2019 was a robust year of activity. OCIC completed business visits with small, medium and large operations, worked with local communities to build out additional business investment tools, and assisted job seekers in re-engaging in the workforce locally.
The Ottawa County Improvement Corporation (OCIC) serves as the lead economic development agency by advancing, encouraging, and promoting the industrial, economic, commercial, and civic development of Ottawa County.
Our vision is to become a recognized strategic resource for the Ottawa County business community, where OCIC engagement enhances private sector profitability, encourages capital investment and demonstrates job creation. OCIC does this through an integrated approach that includes Business Retention & Expansion, New Business Attraction, Workforce Development and Communications & Marketing.
Four primary areas of work have been identified as critical to implementing success in Ottawa County – Business Retention & Expansion, New Business Attraction, Workforce Development, and Communications & Marketing. We are currently in the process of finalizing OCIC’s 2021-2023 Strategic Plan.
The goal of the Executive Board is to ensure OCIC has the focus and capacity to move its goals & objectives forward in an impactful way. In addition to the Executive Board, the OCIC has Board of Trustees and Associate Members.
The Business & Industry Awards recognizes businesses who have gone above and beyond in growth and innovation, along with several individual awards to area leaders.
Experience Ottawa County is our premier marketing event to promote why Ottawa County as a great place to live, work and play. Attendees enjoy local food, beverages, and an evening of networking.
Our experienced staff works to help improve Ottawa County’s economy by attracting and retaining business, assisting with funding for local businesses, and providing job seeker and employer services.
