OCIC Executive Board Hires New Economic Development Director

Oak Harbor, OH – The Ottawa County Improvement Corporation (www.ocic.biz) is pleased to announce that Chris Singerling has joined the organization as the Economic Development Director. The OCIC Executive Board believes that Mr. Singerling has the right experience and motivation to lead the Ottawa County Improvement Corporation in the fulfillment of our Mission, and most importantly, a strong, positive impact in our community.  

Mr. Singerling comes to the Ottawa County Improvement Corporation with a strong background in strategic planning, public policy, and a passion for economic development. He previously served with the Associated Builders and Contractors as Senior Director of Political Affairs for nearly 12 years. Most recently, Mr. Singerling served as the Operations Manager for the Orchard Bar & Table in Catawba Island Township. Mr. Singerling has lived in Ottawa County for the last few years, having family members who currently reside in the county.

“We believe we have found an excellent addition to the OCIC team in Chris, whose experience, skills, and passion for economic development and this community make him a great fit for the position,” said Ken Williams, OCIC Executive Board President. “Chris is excited about joining the organization and welcomes the opportunity to meet with business owners, community leaders, and all other interested parties as soon as possible.”

A Michigan native, Mr. Singerling has been at the crossroads of economic development for 20 years – developing partnerships, establishing programs at national and local levels, representing employers of all sizes and proven success in leading collaborative initiatives. “His passion for the community and its success is apparent and he will be a key figure in enhancing and moving the organization forward,” commented Ken Williams, OCIC Executive Board President. Growing up on Lake Michigan in a collaborative community with a mix of tourism, manufacturing, and agriculture, Mr. Singerling understands what makes Ottawa County unique and desirable to the business community and the individuals that live here. Mr. Singerling will officially begin his new role effective July 1, 2020.
